TherMOOstat Wrangler
Enrichment Preview — for UC Davis Facilities Live output from the production Airtable base · before → after on real complaints.

What enrichment does to a comfort complaint live · June 2026

This is the actual output of TherMOOstat Wrangler on the live UC Davis Facilities Airtable base. Left is the complaint as the student submitted it; right is the same record after enrichment — the original feedback kept intact, plus the room's full mechanical-notes history, its equipment, the real outside-air temperature, a per-room trend chart, the building's design setpoints, and the actual building drawing. Every one of 29,387 complaints (2016–2026) now carries a record like these. Every image and quote on this page is pulled straight from the live base — nothing is mocked up.

What the team asked for — now automatic on every ticket
  1. Every prior mechanical note for that room (or, if the room has none, the rest of the floor).
  2. The room's temperature vs. set-point and the outside air temp now 98%
  3. The exact VAV / AHU / FCU serving it, plus the building's control system.
  4. A real per-room trend chart & the building's PI Web API trend data new
  5. The building's design setpoints (sequence-of-operations) new
  6. The actual floor plan / HVAC drawings from the UCD facilities archive new

comfort_RM1003.png Giedt 1003 zone temperature vs heating/cooling setpoint, last 7 days
Per-room zone temperature against the heating & cooling setpoints. The zone climbs to 92 °F — well above the 74 °F cooling setpoint — exactly the "hot and stuffy" the student reported.
Mechanical notes — this room (62 of 207 tickets)
2025-10-29 · Cold · Alex → Set Point / Programming Change:
"HHW pump seems to be off and not called for… AHU is meeting setpoint but rooms are not being reheated since no HHW is flowing into the building. The HHW system isn't enabled — Brian tried to enable it, but the Alerton Compass doesn't let him click anything now. He contacted Syserco and is waiting to hear back. We are getting TherMOOstat cold feedback."
2025-11-12 · Chilly · Gabriela: "That makes 3 cold complaints in 2 weeks… Brian still can't change anything on Alerton."
What changed: the room now carries its own trend chart showing the zone riding well above the cooling setpoint, the real outside-air temp, and a note history that pins Giedt's recurring HHW / Alerton control problem — the reviewer sees the building-wide fault, not a one-off "hot" vote.

2025-10-02 · Hot · Benjamin: "AHU-3 supply temperature is meeting its setpoint… HHW valve not actuating. Tririga task sent to controls: 2873872. The room had the maximum airflow, the reheat valve was off and the SAT was about 60 — it was doing everything it could to cool the zone down. Math Science having COM issues."
2022-05-23 · Hot · Benjamin: "Currently 84 °F inside — room had not been occupied since 10am."
HVAC docs for this building
What changed: this one's not just preference — the room runs over set-point and the notes pin it to a heating-hot-water valve that isn't actuating (work order Tririga 2873872 already open), with the live PI trend and the equipment schedule one click away. The reviewer sees the open fault, not a blank box.

Design setpoints (sequence of operations)
VAV terminal unit with reheat — what the controls were designed to do:

Demand resp.cooling +4 °F / heating −4 °F
⚠ alarms: zone low 58 °F / high 87 °F · supply >115 or <50 (600s delay)
At 72/75 live vs. a 70/75 design band, this room is in spec — a "chilly" preference, not a fault.

Mechanical notes — this room (22 of 30 tickets)
2025-11-21 · Cold · Kihun → site visit:
"Served by AC-4… Hiroko and I visited the mechanical room. The room temp on the graphics is indeed RM1065. Visiting RM1065 we noticed the occupants tried covering one of the supply vents with packing tape. Our theory is the cubicles cause uneven airflow to desks."
2025-12-08 · Hot · Hayley: "Collin and Hiroko found that cubicles get heated unevenly due to vent positioning."
What changed: the building's design control narrative is right there to measure against — occupied 70/75 with 58/87 °F alarms — alongside the real floor plan and a documented cubicle-airflow site visit. The reviewer can tell "in spec, personal preference" from "actual fault" in seconds.

No guessing. The set-point (~50%), comfort-chart (655 rooms), and design-setpoint (14.9%) numbers are the records where we have real, matchable data — a sensor that maps to the room, a drawing for that floor, a parsed control narrative for that building. Where we don't, the cell is left blank rather than filled with a guess. The gaps are honest, and they shrink every time a new drawing or sensor mapping lands.

Today a reviewer opens a complaint with a building, a room, and a comfort vote. After TherMOOstat Wrangler, they open the same record — original feedback intact — now carrying the room's actual temperature vs. set-point and outside air, the exact VAV → AHU, a real trend chart, the building's design setpoints, and every prior tech note for that room.
